Homonyms!

Hello everyone, Today my class learned about Homonyms. Homonyms are words that are spelt exactly the same but have completely different meanings. I had to write two sentences using the same word. I found it really cool because I learnt something new today.

Have you made slides about Homonyms before?

  1. Kia ora Kapiri, You have given a fantastic description of what a Homonym is in your post. I can see you have remembered what we discussed during our Quality Blog Post session! I felt so happy to read that you learnt something new today : ) ...and that you enjoyed learning it!
I like the sentences you have created, they show you understand the different meanings each of the words have. I am also very impressed that you have used capital letters and full stops in all your sentences.
As an extra challenge, do you think you could add interesting sentence starters to 3 of your sentences? For example: Thankfully, my money is protected in this metal safe.
Also a quick note about another weird English language rule... We say "sheep" whether there is one sheep or more than one sheep. I don't know why but we don't say "sheeps". Like I always say, English has some peculiar, idiosyncratic rules.
Keep up the great work, blog you later : ) Megan

  2. Fakaalofa lahi atu Kapiri, great to see you blogging again this term. The homonym I thought of was: BRIGHT. The student was bright and got 98% in the test. The bright sunshine made it hard to see the road ahead.
I look forward to seeing more of your work online.
