Doorway writing

Hello everyone, here is my Doorway writing slides. I had the write what I heard, see, felt and wondered. After that I had to write story describing a doorway and in the story wrote what I  heard, see, felt and wondered. I enjoyed it because I like writing.

Have you done some writing?

  1. Kia ora Kapiri, I really like the way your blog post described your learning. Ka pai!
The opening sentence in your story was very descriptive and grabbed my attention. You also used some great descriptive words like scattered, gust and stomped. I love the way your vines "crawled" and your words evoke a feeling of lush, nature.
I wonder if you will write another chapter that tells us what is behind the door? Perhaps the world behind the door could be the complete opposite, a mechanical, wasteland that is hot and uncomfortable. How would you describe that? blog you later, Megan : )

    1. Hi Ms Judd it's Kapiri,
Thank you for your uplifting comment. I might do a part two, If there was a mechanical, wasteland that was hot and uncomfortable I would describe it as (petrol oozed down the rusty car)
If there was a world that only had trees and animals how would you describe it?
      Bye: )

    2. Kia ora Kapiri, I think I would describe a world of trees like...
Glowing green air hung hazily around my head. Soft chirrups sounded in the canopy above me. My breath slowed as I gazed up at the kaleidoscopic patterns of sunlight and shade.
Did you notice the onomatopoeia in the first line - I didn't realise I had used so many words starting with g and h until I reread the sentence and heard the rhythm of the words.
Could you use onomatopoeia in a sentence describing the mechanical wasteland? I think I would use letters that have a harsh sound like cr, t, k as they might help give the uneasy feeling of being in such an inhospitable place.
I'm glad my comment was uplifting (great descriptive word!) and I'm looking forward to seeing more of you super posts, Megan : )
