Fact File For NZ Endangered Birds

Hello everyone, here is my Fact File For NZ Endangered Birds slides. Today I had to collect some information about the bird I thought should be bird of the year. I learnt that the scientific name for Grey duck is Anas superciliosa and the maori name for Grey duck is Parera. I found learning something new great.

Do you know any interesting facts about Grey ducks?

  1. Kia ora Kapiri, thank you for posting your informative slides so promptly. I didn't know Grey Ducks lived in the Chatham Islands. I wonder how long they have lived there? Did you find out whether these ducks migrate to other places in the winter? I would be interested to know.
Did you find out about why they are so critically endangered? Are the Chatham Islands and the Kermadec Islands predator free? blog you later, Megan : )
